Gifts 2 go

Gifts 2 Go

We met some great Mitzvah vendors at this past Sunday's Celebrate! Party Showcase and have written about all of them on our Virtual Showcase blog.

Gifts 2 go had a booth and was kind enough to sell us some of her adorable products at the end of the day. She offers discounted trendy unique gifts targeted towards GIRLS & BOYS ages 5-teenage years and specializes in party favors for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties and of course people that need a quick "Gift 2 go"!

My daughter LOVED her peace sign watch and my son was THRILLED with his autograph basketball.

Check out her Website for more great Gifts 2 go!

Kacey K Fine Jewelry

We like Kacey K Fine Jewelry. It's on-trend, oh-so-pretty and much of it is customizable. All of the Kacey K Collections are perfect for a night out and perfect for a very special Mitzvah gift. Thinking ahead to Mother's Day? You might want to put a Kacey K keepsake on your wish list!

We also like the woman behind the company. Kacey K is a Mitzvah Mom herself with 3 kids. Here's the story straight from the Kacey K Website:

KACEY K. FINE JEWELRY is a New Jersey based fine jewelry design company founded in the spring of 2004. Kacey Karp is the head designer and founder of KACEY K. FINE JEWELRY; her collections specialize in personalized and monogram keepsakes. Not only is she an artistic businesswoman, she is a wife and mother of three amazing children. Kacey started her collection by designing a necklace for herself honoring her children. The response she received from family, friends, and even strangers was overwhelming. From there, the line evolved into a collection of personalized monogram keepsakes.

Check it out! And keep in mind that Kacey K is offering a fabulous Mitzvah Reward right now.

REWARD: Receive 15% off any Kacey K purchase when you tell Kacey K the Mitzvah Moms sent you! Or reach them at info@kaceyk.com or 1-800-KACEYKLLC.

Mormile Florists and Event Decorators

Where did you get those gorgeous flowers?

That is the question most commonly asked when Mormile Florists & Event Decorators provides the floral decor for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. For nearly 100 years (wow!) and 4 generations of designers, this family-owned business has been importing beautiful and desirable flowers from every corner of the world.

The Mormile team is offering a fabulous Mitzvah Tip ....

TIP: Mormile owner Bill Kakis has some great advice as to when you should start looking for flowers for your Mitzvah. He says, "A year before the event is a good time to start thinking about flowers because you can get to 'feel' the season as well as the flower availability." (We love that!) Bill adds: "Of course, starting as early as when the date and locations have been selected is also appropriate."

Want to learn more about Mormile? Check out their Vendor Profile in our Unique Vendor Directory.

Or visit the Mormile Florists & Event Decorators Website.

ORT Party Planning Showcase

I spent a good part of the day on Sunday walking around at the ORT Showcase and got to speak to some terrific vendors about trends in Mitzvah planning:

DanceJock Productions - Owner Scott Neglia (pictured above) told me about a trend he's been seeing. The "club look" is very big. He is able to transform the simplest rooms using LED lighting decor (as seen in the background of the photo above). People are going for simple understated looks and lighting can do a lot for a room. Great tip Scott!

I chatted with Evan and Bonnie from The Active Edge Clothing Company who told me he's doing a lot of straight-leg sweat pants and is still seeing a lot of tie-dye. He believes once your party is over there are only three things left: your photos, memories and the favors. Good point!

Lori Bellan from NY Lounge Decor had a cool looking set-up. She says, "Our inspiration is our very own New York City, where you will find some of the trendiest and classiest lounges that are imitated nationwide."

This past weekend, I attended our friend's son's Bar Mitzvah. Harry Kaye had his Bar Mitzvah at the North Ritz. It was a fun party and their DJ was Howie from Party Harty. As my friends know, people just don't remember me, but Howie immediately recognized me from the day before. I was impressed! His colleague Stephanie was showing me something brand new: their TV Truss. They are multi-colored LCD screens and they recommend using up to 4 for your party. Not only can your zap photos play on these cool looking trusses, but the kids can play WII and other video games. Talk about multi-functional!

Shira Younger was from Image Maker/Aarrow Promotions. They have designer inspired designs for sweatshirts, T-shirts etc. According to Shira, "Simple doesn't cut it anymore; kids don't want their favors to look like anything you can find at the mall." This fashion-forward company can even put personalized "thank you's" on the inside of the kids favors. Does that mean less thank you's for your child to write out by hand?! Their other very cool "thank you" alternative was a special ring tone card. What will they think of next?!

Jeff Yahney was there wearing his signature coat. He's been working at a variety of camps since 1991 and has a very warm way of dealing with kids. He represents the Northeast original Dance Head machines and had a long line of kids waiting to try it out!

Steven Dalsimer from Dalsimer Florist and I have a mutual friend and it was nice to finally meet him in person. His services include floral decor, atmospheric lighting, fine linens, custom theme decor, balloon sculpture and professional on-site supervision.

Double G Productions has a team of event planning specialists who provide a complete spectrum of services to fulfill all entertainment and party needs including photograhy, videography, theme/floral decor, extra entertainment and a party room for up to 150 guests. (I've been to their party room and thought it was great!).

Andrea from Calligraphy & Invitations Plus had a busy booth - she was so busy I wasn't able to stop by and say hello! She is one-stop shopping for all your printing needs for any special occasion. We featured her in our newsletter on January 12, 2009.

It's always great to see Ed Jacobs EJ The DJ. I loved his comment which sums up the day...."You can get married a few times, but you only have one Mitzvah!" he tells me. "Parents are being smarter shoppers, but don't want to miss out on giving their kids a special day." Well said!

Thanks to Sandy Aranoff and Debbie Bernstein for allowing MitzvahMarket.com complete access to the ORT Party Showcase. The next ORT Party Planning Showcase dates are:

Sunday, November 8, 2009, at the Huntington Hilton and Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the LI Marriott, Uniondale. Mark your calendars!

We will be attending another showcase on March 29, 2009. The Celebrate! Party Showcase will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Connecticut. We hope to see you there!

Make It Snappy

A special thanks to Sol from Make It Snappy! for having his very talented artists create a one-of-a-kind special airbrushed shirt for my daughter. As soon as I got home, she immediately put it on and loves it! Sol's airbrush artists can do any type of customized design - they are real artists and it is amazing to see them at work up close and personal.

I loved the airbrushing on basketballs (my son would like that!), flip flops and even his newest favor: photo boards.

Sol can be reached at 718-876-9305 or at mispartycentral@aol.com. Make sure you tell him the Mitzvah Moms sent you!
